A week of crawling, crafts, modeling and supporting good causes!

News flash! We have crawlers! Well, army crawlers that is. Avery took off after my shoe the other day and I could not believe what I was seeing.  I did a double take and then grabbed my phone to video her doing it again.  It was awesome to see her be so determined and just go for it!  Then I looked at her and thought, “How can I pause this moment and make it last forever?”The first of many I am sure.  Camdyn is not far behind and Emily is rocking back and forth on her knees.  This ballgame just got taken to a whole new level people.

This week, we also had our twin friends over for a craft party.  I know, you are thinking how do you do crafts with five babies?  Well, thanks to my new obsession Pinterest, we found an adorable project with babies’ hands.  They cried and cried having their hands in the paint.  I think when they are older they will go nuts with it. Bottom line I think we planned this right around nap time so they were crashing down just as we started.  But, the project turned out adorable.  I used one canvas and made each of my girl’s hands a different color.

Also this week we had one of our local papers, Edmond Life and Leisure, do a follow up story on the girls.  They were modeling clothes from an Edmond children’s store called Cinnamon Bears.  The picture is so cute.  That is why I used it at the top there!!!  The reporter said the issue should be out in the Home edition next month.  This was such a cool opportunity to tell our story and update on the girls progress.

Lastly, I would like to say a special thank you to the Gensch family for sending our girls precious t-shirts from their foundation.  Here is a pic of the girls.  One of Bryan’s good friends Ben Gensch and his family tragically lost their sister/daughter to colon cancer in her early twenties.  I know, you are thinking…Early twenties?  Her name was Glory Gensch.  She was beautiful and I hear wonderful stories about the type of young woman she was.  One thing that came out of this struggle for this family was an awesome foundation called Race Charities. This foundation helps educate people about early dedication of cancer and puts on races across the country to raise funds.

Ben’s mother, Cindy Gensch, wrote us an incredible card that describes our girls as Baby Warriors in Christ.  It really was a powerful message from a mother who doing so much good to make sure the honor of her daughter Glory lives on.  Thank you Cindy for including my daughters in the presence of “Glory.”  They wear their shirts proudly for you!  Check out their foundation at www.racecharities.org

Triple the love,

The Coys

“Jamma-fied” in the Coy house

One of my favorite times is at night when we are doing the night time ritual preparing the girls for bed and we get what Bryan calls, “Jamma-fied.”  Code for “getting in our PJs.”  Here are a few cute jammie pics that were taken recently.  The one the girls have on green and white polka dot jammies and it actually says Peas in a Pod on it. The girls have been rock stars sleeping through the night. I am still amazed at how far we have come.  Bryan and I actually have two hours to ourselves at night to just chill out and watch TV. Thank you girls! The girls just turned 7 months old! I can’t believe it.

Here is Camdyn.  This is a new thing that cracks us up.  She smiles with her mouth wide open!  I keep thinking that I maybe make that face at her and she is mocking it right back to me.  Its like an annoying cheerleader type face, but it sure makes be laugh every time!

Here is Miss Em.  Sweet as can be.  I swear this girl is happy most of the time.

And here is Avery.  We actually got her smiling.  She is a happy baby, but she is the serious one out of the bunch.  Probably gets that from me.

Here are some other new pics that are funny.  One you will see Emily sticking her hands in Avery’s mouth.  This is becoming more typical.  There are hands and feet everywhere these days!  The other is Camdyn and Emily just hanging out…In PJs again.  I think I catch them before bed and right after they wake up for good pics.

Here is another new development…Miss Avery sort of sitting on her own. Again, I think I will have crawlers before I have sitter-uppers 🙂

And lastly, Miss Em with her monkey that is bigger than she is…

I will leave everyone with one of my “Strangers say the weirdest things about triplets” latest story.  Its actually a good one!

One funny story –

Young Boy about 9 years old: “Man, that is a weird stroller.” – That made me laugh.

Weird lady in department story with mid-drift showing out her shirt: “My ex-daughter in law had a premie and it was like 1.5 pounds.  I said, “No way, put that baby back we don’t do babies that small.” – I really have no comment to this…I don’t think I need to.

Finally, sweet lady who is a new grandmother to twins.

“Oh, bless your heart sweetie.” – I finally had the right words to say at that moment, I replied, “Yes, my heart is truly blessed.”  She replied back, “You just gave me chills.”

Hope everyone has a triple blessed week!!!

Love the Coys…

Girls first college football game day

The girls experienced their first college game day!  Although it was not at an actual game, we celebrated in fashion in front of the TV…ALL DAY…in our orange ready to cheer the Cowboys on in spirit.  Uncle Grant gave the girls these cute OSU onsies so we were sporting in style.  Can’t wait for them to wear the little cheerleading outfits.  Yes, we have those ready to wear in the closet.  Camdyn cracks up when I do “O, S, U” with her hands!

Here is Miss Avery. She always looks so serious in pictures, but she is the first to look at you for approval when she has done something praiseworthy like almost crawl or push herself up really tall.  She also LOVES bananas.  The girls have not liked the rice cereal too much so I tried Gerber banana today.  Avery actually fussed when I took the spoon away.  This is not surprising 🙂  I am so proud of her. She is doing so awesome!

Camdyn is my gal who smiles from ear to ear!  Just melts your heart.  She also lays on her back and holds her arms up almost to say, “Please pick me up, please pick me up!”  And I do.  She can be the fussiest sometimes, but usually when she is tired.  She goes to sleep the fastest at night and will typically sleep the longest.  Camdyn and Emily are looking more alike everyday.  Camdyn was not a fan of banana.  She acted like it was sour or something. I tried it myself and it was not that great so I don’t blame her.

And finally, Miss Em.  There is always something about her that just makes me smile.  She always looks like she is up to something.  I am so impressed how she is keeping pace with the other two girls.  Again, Miss Fighter just keeps fighting.  She makes this cute little noise when she is going down for bed.  Its almost a coo but like a sweet little voice that is content and ready for dreamland.  So sweet.

And to wrap it up, I’d love to post some of the more recent funny comments I have received from onlookers of the triplets when we are out in public.  My favorite as of lately is:

Lady in Store: “Wow, triplets?”

Me: “Yes”

Lady in Store: “Girls?, Boys?”

Me: What I wanted to say – “Doesn’t the hot pink hair bows and pink stroller covers give it away?” – What I really said, “All girls”

Lady in Store: “Are they identical?  These two look identical.” – pointing to Avery and Camdyn.

Me: “I get that alot, but actually these two are identical” – pointing to Em and Cam.

HERE IS THE KICKER…..

Lady in Store: “Are you sure? Did you watch them cut the cord?”

Me: Stunned. “Well, I am very sure.  I had ultrasounds every two weeks so we always knew who was who…” What I wanted to say – “I was drugged and cut open having three babies, so NO I did not see them cut the cord.  Or, I watched three heartbeats in two different sacks in my tummy for seven and half months, YES, I am sure who my daughters are…”

All in all, I was polite but the celebrity of being mom of multiples practices your patience 🙂  But, I understand the curiosity.

Hope everyone has a great Labor Day…as we continue to Labor 🙂
